The Rebuilt Temple & Abomination of Desolation
Read first
A third Jewish temple must be built in Jerusalem before the midpoint of the Tribulation. Animal sacrifices will resume. At the midpoint, the Antichrist enters the temple, stops the sacrifices, sets up his image, and declares himself God — the 'abomination of desolation.'
Temple History
- Solomon's Temple (First Temple): Built ≈ 957 BC; destroyed by Babylon 586 BC
- Zerubbabel's/Herod's Temple (Second Temple): Built 516 BC; destroyed by Rome in 70 AD — exactly as Jesus predicted (Matt 24:1–2)
- Third (Tribulation) Temple: Must be built before the Antichrist's midpoint betrayal
Matthew 24:15–16 (NASB 1995)
"Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains."

🙏 Reflection & Prayer
Jesus said "reader, pay attention!" when He referenced Daniel's abomination. What does His urgency tell me about how seriously to take these prophecies?
The Temple Institute in Jerusalem is actively preparing temple vessels and priestly garments today. Does seeing preparation for prophesied events change how I hold the nearness of the end times?
The abomination of desolation will be the moment Israel realizes the Antichrist has betrayed them. How does God use even the worst betrayal to drive people back to Himself?
